There is a modern clinical facility with electricity, running water, staff residence, and a medical laboratory. The current staffing includes one Medical Doctor, Two Nurses, One Lab Technician and some support staff. The organization does not receive any appropriation from the Haitian government to support its operations or community programming. Because of the below poverty level income of the population, CORRECT Health is forced to subsidize the health and social services.
These fees are symbolic and give the peasants a sense that they are contributing something to their healthcare. More often than not, the clinic has to waive these fees.
Examples are:
Co-payment: 25 cents for each visit
Prescriptions: 2 cents per pill no matter the cost of the medication
Lab Exams: $2 per exam
